Dr Diane Cooper’s PhD Research:
Dr Diane was successful in her application to the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) to fund her PhD work with Dr Donal O’Gorman in Dublin City University (DCU). Diane looked at the impact of different types of diet and exercise interventions on novel biomarkers of insulin resistance in individuals who were overweight and sedentary. Ruth Kavanagh’s Masters Research:
Ruth Kavanagh ANutr was successful in her application to the Irish Research Council. Ruth received an employment based masters in partnership with True Fitness (Dr Diane Cooper was the employment based mentor) and the Institute of Technology Sligo. The focus of Ruth’s MSc research was to determine the impact of a 6-week community-based lifestyle education and physical activity programme on the dietary intake, physical, cardiovascular and metabolic health of farmers living in Ireland.
