We would like to wish the one and only Dr Kiera Ward a massive HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY! Kiera is one of a kind and we are so delighted to have her on the EduFIT team as an exercise physiologist, sports scientist and health researcher. Now that you are 30 Kiera you need to keep up your resistance/strength training because we start to lose muscle mass, muscle strength and muscle function from the age of 30 onwards (and even more so when you reach menopause!!) – I wish I was joking!🙊 But don’t worry Kiera, we incorporate strength exercises into our live online Strength & Tone classes at 7pm every Monday, our Core & Tone classes at 7:40pm every Thursday and our BodyWell classes at 8pm on a Monday & Thursday. We will see you there! 😜

Strength training improves muscle size, strength, power, endurance, and tone, as well as tendon, ligament, and bone strength, which increases functional capacity and the ability to perform activities of daily living and reduces injury risk. Strengthening exercises also helps to reduce cardiometabolic risk!
