Catherine Nicoll
Catherine a recent DCU graduate studying a Bachelor of Sport Science and Health. She has a passion for research in the area of improving an individual’s quality of life. During her time at college she was involved in the LifeLab project which is a co-design intervention developed by and for adolescents from a poor socioeconomic background.
During college she worked within nursing homes and at home zoom classes providing exercises classes to all ranges of abilities. Once graduated she worked as a research assistant within DCU exploring research projects that could be implemented into LifeLab intervention with the aid of AI, funded with Science Foundation Ireland. After this she worked across Ireland, mainly in the midlands implementing exercise classes to adults living with chronic conditions to improve their health status.
Her involvement in EduFIT is a Research Masters awarded from the Irish Research Council, where she will be researching the benefits of a exercise, nutrition and health education intervention for women in all stages of menopause with Dr Siobhán O’Connor from Dublin City University.
In her spare time Catherine is involved on her family dairy and beef farm and enjoys exploring outdoors, well being initiatives and hiking.
