Prime Time is mentioned in the Sport Ireland Physical Activity for Health Evaluation Report

We are delighted to see the publication of the Sport Ireland Physical Activity for Health Evaluation Report, which highlights the positive impact of physical activity programmes for people living with chronic conditions across Ireland.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved, including the Physical Activity for Health Officers, Local Sports Partnerships, HSE Health & Wellbeing, Sport Ireland, the Department of Health, Sláintecare and all community partners helping to create meaningful pathways to physical activity for those who need it most.

The report reflects the power of collaboration in improving physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence, connection and quality of life. We are especially proud that our Slaintecare funded Prime Time of Life programme with Laois Sports Partnership forms part of this important work 💙.

Prime Time of Life is a 12-week exercise and health education programme for middle-aged and older adults, including those living with long-term conditions such as frailty, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis and osteoporosis.

Our research with Dublin City University showed significant improvements in fitness, strength, balance, flexibility, physical activity participation, and perceived physical and mental health and quality of life. We continue to see these results across both our online and in-person Prime Time of Life programmes.

Thank you to the Physical Activity for Health Officers in Longford, Mayo, Wicklow and Wexford for rolling out the programme in 2024, 2025 and 2026. We are excited to see it expanding to Limerick and Waterford in 2026.
