Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. When it comes to your mental health, self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Dr Diane Cooper reminds us that:
Physical health and mental health are not things that happen naturally. In fact, the ageing process challenges this with every year that passes.
- Menopause adds an additional challenge.
- You have a lot of control over this.
- There is lots you can do from the lifestyle perspective that is very effective.
- Time is not endless. Assess your time and use it wisely.
